Bio:
Len Bowes, MD, MS is a physician and senior medical informaticist at Intermountain Healthcare, Salt Lake City, Utah. Since 1996, he has participated in the development, implementation, and evaluation of Intermountain's integrated healthcare information system that is currently used by over 10,000 employees, in 22 hospitals and over 170 clinics statewide.
Dr. Bowes is a graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, a board certified anesthesiologist, and has degrees in bioengineering and biomedical informatics. He is also an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Biomedical Informatics, at the University of Utah, where his research interests include, design, implementation, and evaluation of ambulatory electronic health record systems, measuring EHR use, personal health records, and secondary use of healthcare data.
