Travel Day, June 26-27, 2011

It was a long, but relatively uneventful, trip. 20+ hours from SLC to Geneva (change in Paris), EasyJet to Nice, then local bus to Monaco.  Looking out of the plane over the Alps and out of the bus into the "hills" leading up from the coast, I am wondering ... What have I taken on?  But zipping back uphill from late night gelato, I confirmed that things are so so so much better than the last trek we did (Peru, where every uphill, even in town, meant counting my breaths).

Things in Monaco are bustling, in anticipation of the prince's wedding in a few days.  Our invitation must be sitting in the mailbox in SLC ... !

Food report: I actually drank Pepsi (belated apologies to Woody's many friends who were barred from enjoying their favorite beverage in my Coke-only mom-mobile). We were served dinner and breakfast on the plane and it wasn't too bad. In-airport meals for the rest of the day, expensive and unremarkable.

We're off to explore Monaco and enjoy the last day without packs on our backs.
