Requests For Proposals (RFPs)
Many corporations and foundations have published deadlines for when they will accept proposals, and some limit the number of proposals they will accept from an institution. For the institutions that issue RFPs or with whom the university has an established relationship, Health Sciences Development will issue a request for pre-proposal by e-mail approximately 10 weeks before a proposal is due to the granting agency. Pre-proposals are reviewed and ranked by the academic vice presidents in order of institutional priority, and the development office notifies areas that are invited to submit a full proposal. Please contact jeffrey.dunn@hsc.utah.edu to be added to the Health Sciences Development RFP distribution list.

RFP-P Form
A similar process is used for the George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Foundation; however, a Development Priorities Committee (DPC) Form will accompany the e-mail request for pre-proposals. The DPC form requires the signature of the academic vice president, dean, program director or chair, and development officer. The development office will notify the areas invited to submit a full proposal to the foundation after the summary forms are reviewed by the Development Priorities Committee.
Proposals for government grants and sponsored research are coordinated through the Office of Sponsored Projects.
