Polo For a Good Cause

This year Claudia Skaggs Luttrell, mastermind behind this spectacular event, outdid herself again. Our 4th annual Polo match to raise funds for the U's College of Pharmacy was a splendid success. Many members of the community and the University attended, including President Pershing and his wife Sandi. We were sorry Claudia's father, Sam Skaggs, our wonderfully generous benefactor (for whom the new Pharmacy building will be named), could not be there although he was very much present in spirit. It was a perfect afternoon. From our front-row seats, all of us enjoyed a close polo match—11 to 10, the Jacobsen Construction Hammerheads over the TSA Motorsports Shark Attack with Jenny Luttrell (Claudia’s daughter) scoring four goals. The food was absolutely superb. Tango dancers were admired by all. The band was outstanding.
As we celebrate what an outstanding College of Pharmacy we have—consistently one of the best in the nation—we reflect on just what has made us great: Our faculty, students, and staff, and today, most of all, we recognize and thank our benefactors and community supporters. They make it all possible, and with such style!
