So Much to Be Proud of Part I

Kindness and professionalism: Every quarter of every year, our teams in the hospitals and clinics set targets for patient satisfaction scores, and more and more teams are exceeding those targets. Last week I rounded with hospital leaders including Quinn McKenna, Dan Lundergan, and Huntsman Cancer Institute leaders Sue Childress and Ray Lynch to congratulate the many teams that exceeded their patient satisfaction targets.
All were above the 90th percentile, and several reached the 99th percentile (as compared to hospitals nationwide! Meeting the individuals who are responsible, I am truly moved. I know that these folks go that extra mile for our patients. Their everyday acts of kindness, their extra efforts to be helpful, their special smiles and encouraging words all help make the University of Utah one of the best in the nation.
Huntsman Cancer Institute departments featured (top to bottom): environtmental services, radiology, radiation oncology (two photos), nutrition services, inpatient fifth floor, inpatient 4th floor, ACC, BMT, Clinic 1A, Clinic 3A, ICU-IMU, and infusion.
